Nurturing Future Tech Leaders – Navarino’s Supports School Hackathon to Promotes Green Innovation in Shipping
Navarino, a leader in maritime technology solutions, recently took a significant step towards nurturing the next generation of tech enthusiasts. The company proudly sponsored a school hackathon competition at St Catherines School in Athens, aimed at fostering IT skills and cultivating a passion for technology among
students.
With several schools participating, and around 200 students taking part, the focus of the hackathon was on ‘greener shipping,’ aligning with Navarino’s commitment to sustainable solutions within the maritime industry. Students were tasked with designing robotics solutions that contribute to the advancement of environmentally-friendly shipping practices.
After some intense collaboration and problem-solving, the Zanneios school team emerged victorious, earning not just accolades but a unique opportunity. The champions have been offered the opportunity to spend a day at Navarino, receiving personalized mentorship from industry experts. This hands-on experience will provide the students with a glimpse into the real-world applications of technology in the maritime domain. By bridging the gap between theory and practical application, the event not only imparted technical skills but also nurtured a deep-seated interest in technology among the students.
