NGM Energy SA, an Athens-based company together with Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (Cyprus) Ltd who are the technical managers of their fleet, is in the process of rolling out a major upgrade of its fleet IT infrastructure. As part of this modernization scheme, NGM wanted to enhance the connectivity, virtualization, and cybersecurity capabilities across its fleet.
To meet these needs, NGM together with their technical managers, partnered with Navarino to deploy cutting-edge solutions that have been tailored to their specific operational requirements.
- Starlink 1TB / Ku-Band Connectivity with FX Backup
Navarino is equipping NGM with Starlink’s 1TB plan, in combination with Fleet Xpress or Ku-Band. This technology provides the fleet with a reliable, low-latency communication system essential for the company’s operations. In case of any issues with the primary connection, the Ku band or Inmarsat Fleet Xpress serve as a backup, ensuring full connectivity redundancy. - Infinity Plus 450 for Virtualization and Hosting
To support NGM’s growing IT infrastructure, Navarino installed the Infinity Plus 450 solution. Besides a wide range of ‘designed-for-maritime’ functionality, Infinity also provides the company with virtualization capabilities for hosting virtual machines and other applications. - Angel Cybersecurity for Advanced Protection
Navarino is integrating its Angel cybersecurity platform into NGM’s infrastructure to provide comprehensive protection against cyber threats. Angel, which is type-approved by DNV and certified by ClassNK, helps ensure that NGM’s fleet is protected from external cyber risks. - SentinelOne Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR)
For enhanced endpoint security, SentinelOne EDR is being used to secure local PCs and devices aboard NGM’s vessels. This means that all devices have an additional layer of protection against potential malware, ransomware, and other cyber threats. SentinelOne’s automated threat detection also ensures that any security incidents can be swiftly identified addressed.
