This Bureau Veritas Type Approval is not for specific equipment or a specific setup – rather it covers the overall Quazar solution onboard, including how all managedequipment and services are hardened with security control policies and cyber protection mechanisms, for full peace of mind. As a result Quazar is the first such holistically Type Approved service.
Everything on the IT infrastructure that is managed through the Quazar platform is type approved for cybersecurity, including all peripherals and all IT components, as well as the entire ethernet cabling infrastructure. This not only provides ship operators with a secure setup, but also complete peace of mind when it comes to external security audits. In addition, Quazar’s personal ITManager is always ready to answer any questions, or demonstrate the platform to users, but also to provide any required documentation or digital records.
As digital records are kept for all processes in the form of tickets, there is a clear paper trail certifying that an engineer has seen an issue, analyzed it, and resolved it.
