As the demand for data at sea continues to rise, Iridium has announced a major enhancement to its Certus Companion plans, delivering significantly greater value and capacity for all maritime users.
Effective September 1, 2025, Iridium has upgraded its monthly data allowances:
- 300MB plans are now boosted to 1GB per month
- 1GB plans are now boosted to 3GB per month
This means subscribers can now enjoy three times more data every month at no additional cost, ensuring vessels stay better connected for business operations, crew welfare, IoT applications, and critical communications.
These upgraded plans have been automatically applied for both existing and new subscribers, with no action required. This ensures that all Certus users immediately benefit from the additional capacity and improved value, making Iridium’s L-band service an even stronger complement to primary connectivity solutions such as Starlink, VSAT, or GX.
Iridium Certus Companion services are particularly valued for their global coverage, reliability, and resilience, offering a trusted backup solution that keeps vessels online even in the most remote maritime regions. With this latest upgrade, shipowners and operators can now count on even more data availability, giving them greater flexibility in managing their digital needs at sea.
At Navarino, we are pleased to support our customers in making the most of these enhanced Iridium Certus plans as part of our broad portfolio of connectivity solutions.
