We are delighted to announce that Navarino’s IT-as-a Service platform, Quazar, has recently received type approval from RINA and has been certified for the IACS UR E27 “Cyber Resilience of On-Board Systems and Equipment”. Furthermore, this certification also certifies that Quazar comprehensively covers all the relevant aspects to assist vessels in complying with the IACS UR E26 “Cyber Resilience of Ships”.
RINA, an Italian international classification society and a founding member of the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS), offers extensive services to the maritime industry, including ship classification, certification, and engineering consultancy. Established in 1861, RINA currently classes worldwide, over 79 Million of Gross Tonnage for about 9700 vessels of all types.
Importance of this Certification
Effective from July 1, 2024, all new vessels must be approved for Cyber Security and comply with IACS Unified Regulations (URs) E26 and E27. E26 applies to shipyards, designers, and owners, whereas E27 pertains to suppliers.
