On 27 June, the Greek Embassy in the UK joined a ceremony marking Navarino’s latest sporting, medical and academic donation, this time to Thornhill Primary School in Cardiff, a school attended by many Greek and Cypriot children. It follows Navarino’s earlier sporting donation in Bristol this year.
The ceremony was opened by the Greek Ambassador to the UK, His Excellency Yannis Tsaousis, and attended by a Welsh Member of Parliament and other local officials. A commemorative plaque bearing Navarino’s name was unveiled for the occasion.
Through the donation, Navarino CSR installed essential medical hardware and prepared the school grounds so pupils can now enjoy football and basketball. This would not have been possible without the ongoing cooperation of the Greek Embassy.
The Navarino CSR UK donation includes:
- Two football goalposts, with grounds lining
- Two basketball units, with grounds lining
- One AED unit, plus a training seminar for school staff
- Books, balls and football shirts
