Joining the Greek Embassy’s ceremony for the Greek-Cypriot community in Bristol was a heart-warming experience.
One of the most rewarding moments was seeing the children run straight outside during their break to play with the new footballs and basketballs, with so much joy and excitement on their faces. It was a lovely reminder that even a simple contribution can make a real difference to a community’s everyday life – especially when you think that this used to be an empty field and is now such a warm and lively playground!
Navarino is proud to support the community’s educational mission – not only by providing interactive boards and books, but also by creating opportunities for play, exercise, and teamwork, fostering a love of sports. This approach reflects the old Greek saying, «Νοῦς ὑγιὴς ἐν σώματι ὑγιεῖ», a healthy mind in a healthy body.
The dedication of the church, the teachers, and the wider Greek-Cypriot community is truly remarkable, and it was a privilege to witness first-hand.
