OneWeb
Add a new layer of connectivity to your fleet
OneWeb’s Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite service extends dependable broadband connectivity to the maritime sector, complementing the range of LEO solutions already available in our portfolio. Through a growing constellation and an expanding network of ground gateways, OneWeb provides high-throughput, low-latency communications suited for merchant shipping and other professional maritime operations.
Designed to enhance operational efficiency and crew welfare, the service integrates seamlessly with existing onboard networks and can operate alongside other LEO or GEO systems. This flexibility enables fleet operators to build resilient, scalable communication architectures that align with their operational routes, digital initiatives, and performance requirements.

Hardware Options
OneWeb’s maritime connectivity is delivered through Intellian’s next-generation flat-panel terminals, purpose-built for reliability and efficiency at sea. These electronically steered antennas feature solid-state designs with no moving parts, ensuring stable performance in motion, low maintenance needs, and compact installation footprints.
We offer two Intellian models optimized for different vessel types and operational demands, the OW10HM and OW11FM. Both are certified for OneWeb service and share the same design philosophy of durability, precision tracking, and consistent broadband connectivity. The choice between them depends on the vessel’s size, data requirements, and desired performance margins.
Below is a comparison table for the Intellian OW10HM and Intellian OW11FM flat-panel terminals showing their key differentiators and trade-offs.
Comparison Table
| Feature / Parameter | Intellian OW10HM (Compact Flat Panel) | Intellian OW11FM (Enterprise Flat Panel) |
| Intended Market / Use Case | Smaller vessels, fishing, yachts, lighter commercial maritime | Larger vessels, ferries, merchant ships, enterprise maritime use |
| Dimensions (Above Deck Unit) | 56 × 45 × 12 cm | 97 × 50 × 13 cm |
| Weight (Above Deck Unit) | 12.2 kg | 20.5 kg |
| Operating Temperature Range | –40 °C to +55 °C | –40 °C to +55 °C |
| Ingress / Ruggedness | IP66 | IP66 |
| G/T (Gain over Temperature) | 9 dB/K | 10.7 dB/K |
| EIRP (Dual Carrier) | +36.6 dBW | +36.6 dBW |
| Peak Throughput / Performance | ~ 75 Mbps downlink / ~ 14 Mbps uplink (subject to network) | Up to 195 Mbps down / 32 Mbps up (subject to network) |
| Blockage Mitigation | N/A | Primary-primary configuration |
| Installation Complexity | Lower: lighter, more compact; easier handling and mounting | Higher: larger size and mass require more planning and structural support |
| Recommended Vessel Size / Use | Vessels where size, weight or cost constraints are important; moderate throughput needs | Vessels needing higher throughput, robust link margins, or operating in demanding networks / routes |
| Trade-offs / Considerations | Less margin under adverse link conditions, more vulnerable to scan/obstruction loss | Higher cost, heavier, more structural burden, but better performance under stress |
Choosing the Right Terminal for Your Vessel
Both Intellian OW10HM and Intellian OW11FM are purpose-built for OneWeb’s LEO network, engineered to deliver reliable, high-performance connectivity at sea. Selecting the correct terminal depends on your vessel’s operational scale, data requirements, and installation considerations.
| Vessel Type / Requirement | Recommended Terminal | Why This Choice Works |
| Small vessels, yachts, and fishing boats | OW10HM (Compact Flat Panel) | Lightweight, space-efficient, and simple to install. Provides reliable connectivity for navigation, crew communication, and operational data needs where moderate bandwidth is sufficient. |
| Mid-size commercial vessels or workboats | OW10HM or OW11FM (depending on coverage expectations) | OW10HM suits most applications with lower power and compact footprint. Choose OW11FM for higher data throughput or extended route coverage. |
| Large commercial vessels, ferries, and offshore units | OW11FM (Enterprise Flat Panel) | Delivers higher gain and improved throughput performance. Better suited for bandwidth-intensive operations, multiple users, and remote IT systems integration. |
| Operations in areas with frequent blockage or complex superstructure | OW11FM (Dual Antenna Setup) | Supports advanced blockage mitigation and dual-unit configurations to maintain seamless coverage during vessel maneuvers. |
| Budget-sensitive projects or weight-restricted installations | OW10HM | Provides solid performance at a lower cost and easier installation footprint. |
